Fluor Applications

Fluor is an element that is widely found in nature and also in the structure of bones and teeth. Fluor strengthens tooth enamel and protect teeth against decay by reducing the harmful effects of dental plaque (see Oral Hygiene). Systemic fluoride, taken by diet, has a low protective effect. Therefore, fluoride has to be applied to the children that have high caries risk in appropriate periods for their age.
